Old news but better than no news

At the same time Brian who had earlier worked for a private teaching organization FO. Aarhus, www.fo-aarhus.dk met with the organizations leader Torben Dreier and explained our situation “just think 21 years of success down the drain” and asked if he would be interested in overtaking the whole project (musik and medie) Torben being the visionary person he is was in no doubt that our project would fit perfectly into his organization and he agreed to negotiate with Aarhus council. On the 1st of May 2011 we moved into our new premises as a part of F.O.Aarhus and feel completely at home.

Of course there was a price to pay, many of our students became ill and some even had long periods of deep depression due to all the uncertainty and the long waiting period for Aarhus council`s (adult handicap department) to come to a decision. Today everything is the way it should be, our bands are getting more and more professional and this year`s tour plan shows how popular they have become not only in Denmark but especially in Germany which has become their second home.

Acoustic mini-cd

From the 7th to the 11th of November 2011 we found the time to record 7 acoustic numbers at Jacob`s parents summer house on the west coast of Denmark, everyone had a great time where we turned day into night, starting recording at 10.pm and stopping around 5.am. We have thought about making a mini CD of 100 copies (collectors item) to give to friends, loved ones and those who have been close to us over the years as a special thanks for all their support.

Acoustic succes

One of the major success's of 2011 has been D.W.S. Danny, Winnie and Sonni all 3 from Jacob Jensen band and Winnie and the Jets playing acoustic, not just a couple of guitars, but contra bass, lap steel guitar, banjo, saw and everything else Sonni can think of.

New tv-programe

As our bands get better and better so do our folk working in the medie department, we hope very soon to have our own 30 minute spot on one of Denmarks major tv stations, watch this space. Probably the greatest compliment paid to our journalist`s is that their research and questions are better than the professional`s who come with the same questions time after time, this we have heard many times from top entertainers, sports stars and politicians.

We apologize for not keeping up to date, up to date but all our energy was drained by the circumstances surrounding our situation.

News about Brian Øgendahl

Brian Øgendahl one half of the duo Sonni and Brian has started reheasing with Jacob Jensen band and Winnie and the Jets and will in 2012 be playing keyboard on live jobs giving both bands a new musical dimension. Please note that this will only apply for Denmark

Winnie and the Jets

We are proud to present a major new talent, Winnie Sørensen - Winnie joined the workshop in April and together with Jacob Jensen Band has already started building a great repotoire of Danish and English hits. Winnie has sung in a church choir since she was 6 years old, has a unique voice and a fantastic ear for melody. Winnie And The Jets should be ready for gigs in their own right by spring next year - until then Winnie will be appearing with Jacob Jensen Band on special gigs.

New release

The 2nd CD recorded at our own studio Handy studio ”Jeg vil jeg kan” with Winnie and the jets is now possible to buy at the bands gigs. This the bands debut CD is made up mainly of copy numbers both Danish and International, The number “Jeg vil jeg kan” is Winnie`s debut as a songwriter and we look forward to many more from this amazing vocalist.

The bands line up which is the same as Jacob Jensen band have been giging constantly all year and already now jobs are coming in for next year.

Brian's book
